Zevenbergen Capital recently sponsored and attended the University of Washington's Foster School of Business Centennial Leadership Celebration, recognizing 100 years of education and impact.
Opening its doors in 1917, the Michael G. Foster School has provided the educational foundation for over fifty thousand alumni, including many notable business leaders and ZCI team members. The evening kicked off with a video featuring local leaders discussing the entrepreneurial spirit of the Pacific Northwest and the beneficial impact the Foster School has had on our rapidly growing business community. In addition to recognizing achievements of the Foster School, this year's event celebrated the last hundred years of operation for local business pillars The Boeing Company, PACCAR Inc, and Nordstrom; and concluded with a look into the future with Microsoft Corporation's Dr. James Whittaker.
Speeches throughout the evening seemed perfectly tailored to many Zevenbergen philosophies and ideals - company representatives, and UW faculty alike spoke to the importance of exemplary service and a passion for innovation. Common topics mentioned included machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the overall willingness to embrace disruption...sound familiar?
Cheers to the UW Foster School on 100 years, and the many more to come!
